Karl graduated from Elanora High School in 2009, where he was school Vice-Captain in that same year. He was a conscientious student who always wanted to achieve at the highest level. Karl was rewarded for his academic achievements with a scholarship to attend Bond University, where he completed a Bachelor of Business, Management and a Bachelor of Information Technology, Software Systems. Karl was awarded this scholarship in recognition of his academic excellence and outstanding involvement in the community.
During his years at Bond University, Karl’s desire to academically achieve at the highest level continued and he was awarded eight First in Class awards over the duration of his time at university, from 2010 to 2012.
In January 2013, Karl was awarded the Australian Computer Society Award for the IT student who had achieved the highest GPA.
After completing his Degrees, Karl went on to work for a number of high-profile companies, including Apple and Deloitte Australia. In 2014, Karl was appointed as a Digital Product Manager for Envato, a world-leading online community for creative assets, tools and talent. In 2015, Karl was appointed as the Account Director for Buzinga App Development – an app development agency specialising in delivering award-winning mobile experiences for businesses that are looking to create a standout presence in their competitive markets.
Just a couple of years later, in 2017, Karl left Buzinga to start his own app development agency with two business partners. Rather than starting from scratch, they purchased the brand of a previously successful agency known as ‘DreamWalk’ that was no longer operating yet had maintained a strong online presence in the Melbourne app market. This strategy enabled Karl and his business partners to see success rather quickly. They established a team, created a set of highly repeatable processes, and started winning projects with great clients – all while leveraging the history of the brand.
Fast forward to today and DreamWalk App Development is considered one of Australia’s leading app development agencies, employing 20+ staff across their Melbourne and Brisbane offices. They work with their clients from ideation, strategy and design through to development, marketing and commercialisation.
Karl is the Managing Director at DreamWalk and, after one of his business partner’s exited in 2021, he became just one of two partners in the business. Karl plays an active role in all large projects at DreamWalk, including in recent years working with big name clients such as Porsche Cars Australia, Dulux Group, Australian Council of Recycling, the International Cricket Council and more.
