Graduate, 2011
Bettina Webb
Bettina graduated from Elanora State High School in 2011. During her schooling years she was given the tools to shape her future.
In 2009 she took the opportunity to study abroad at Elanora’s sister school, Yokosuka Sogo High School. This motivated her to continue studying Japanese language upon her return to Elanora. She ultimately received an academic excellence award for her studies in Japanese, was granted entry to the Griffith University Early Start to Tertiary Studies (GUESTS) program, and guaranteed admission to study at Griffith University.
From 2012 to 2016 Bettina studied for her Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice. In 2016 she attended Queensland University of Technology to obtain a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and to complete her Practical Legal Training (PLT).
From July 2013 to March 2014, Bettina was an intern for Prisoners’ Legal Service where she answered general inquiries, assisted prisoners with their parole applications, handled phone calls from members of the community and from prisoners, filed documents within the office and at the Supreme Court and Crown Law.
In July 2014, Bettina commenced working for Howden Saggers Lawyers as a Law Clerk. In 2017 Howden Saggers employed Bettina as a Solicitor. She then progressed to Associate in March 2022, Senior Associate in 2022 and in December 2022 Bettina was made Director.
As the Director, Bettina leads a team of dedicated legal professionals in providing exceptional services to the firm’s clients. With a deep-rooted passion for the law and a commitment to excellence, she has spent years shaping the firm’s vision and delivering effective solutions to complex legal challenges.
Bettina’s expertise extends beyond Criminal Law into associated pivotal areas including Investigative Hearings, Child Protection, Youth Justice, Traffic matters, Domestic Violence, Youth Justice, Mental Health, Parole and Judicial Reviews. With a comprehensive background spanning these diverse practice domains, Bettina possesses a unique capacity to offer clients insight and advice on a broader range.
Last year she was nominated by her peers for the Lawyers Weekly’s Women in Law Awards and named a finalist. Earlier this year she also joined the Board of Directors for The Noledge House, a mental health charity which offers prevention-focused mental health and wellbeing support.
She practices primarily in the Gold Coast, Beenleigh and Brisbane areas.
Elanora State High School assisted in creating the foundation for Bettina to go on to build a fruitful career path. She even remains connected with her keen interest for Japanese language and culture to this day.
