Grace Mitchell
School Vice Captain, Graduate 2017
Grace Mitchell, a proud Elanora State High School graduate and 2017 School Vice Captain, has been on an incredible journey since leaving the school gates. In 2018, she began her tertiary studies at Griffith University, graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor of Health Science and a clear goal—to study medicine.
Driven by her passion, Grace applied to medical school and was thrilled to receive an offer. In 2021, she commenced Bond University’s prestigious Medical Program, which consists of two sequential degrees the Bachelor of Medical Studies followed by the Doctor of Medicine.
Now in her final year of university, Grace is eagerly preparing to begin her medical career as a junior doctor in 2026. Her long-term goals include completing her internship and residency, with hopes of entering a specialist training program.
Grace has made a lasting impact throughout her time at Bond, currently serving as President of the Bond University Medical Students Society, helping to foster a strong connection between students and faculty while being a trusted point of contact for student concerns.
She finds great fulfilment in the complexity and diversity of medicine. While it can be challenging, Grace is inspired by the constant opportunities to learn and grow, with new research and treatments always emerging. Above all, she is driven by a desire to support patients and their families, particularly during difficult times.
At Elanora, Grace had a strong passion for STEM subjects, excelling in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Science 21, as well as Mathematics. She credits much of her success to the outstanding teachers who supported and guided her journey: Mr Nicholson, Mr Prigoone, Mr Chandler, Mrs Phillips, Mr McCulloch, and her form teacher Mr Smith. Their encouragement played a pivotal role in shaping her path and helping her reach where she is today.
